Synchronizing safety and control in trucks.

At SafeSync, innovation meets practicality. We're a proudly Kiwi-owned startup based in the stunning Nelson region, passionate about making trucks and machinery smarter while roads and worksites are safer.

SafeSync was born out of a real-world need: a smarter, simpler way to control vehicle accessories and improve safety on the job. The concept was the brainchild of Ben Thawley, an experienced engineer who saw firsthand how valuable integrated controls and alerts could be for busy operators. Ben designed the SafeSync screen from the ground up – a sleek, intuitive system that manages truck accessories like beacons and hoists, and warns users if a handbrake is off or a toolbox is left open, improving safety.
While Ben handles the technical side, Jemma Thawley is the engine that keeps SafeSync running. As co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Jemma manages operations and is the friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for all customer enquiries. Together, they bring a balance of innovation, precision, and people-first thinking to every part of the business.
Ben and Jemma are no strangers to hard work. Alongside SafeSync, they also run Action Engineering Tasman, a transport and general engineering business based in Stoke, Nelson. Between running two businesses, raising two energetic toddlers, and keeping up with their lively dog, they’re proud to be contributing to smarter, safer solutions for the transport and engineering sectors.
SafeSync may be a new venture, but the vision is clear: build clever, reliable technology that supports the people doing the real work. We're excited about where this journey will take us – and we’re just getting started.
